So I've been singing falsetto the wrong way for a while....

But I'm glad I've figured it out! My falsetto sounds so much better after only 3 hours of the right way!
 
I don't know how to describe it. It sounded very weak though.

I tried to sound like this guy. I really like his falsetto and tried to imitate it. In doing that, my falsetto had no power. It sounded funny sometimes. I just have to accept the different sound.

 
There are no "proper" different ways, really.

When I get a new desktop, I might return to it and record both ways.

Let's just say, the old way, people will probably say "it sounds like you're trying to sound like a girl," as opposed to "Oh, you're doing falsetto."

There kind of are. There are vocal techniques that actually strain and eventually injure your voice. Those are generally considered improper. (The same way that playing your hammer-ons with an actual hammer would be considered improper technique.)
