So I got my dmp3...

Doug H

I'll be there
I was wondering I'm going to try and plug my sm57 into the instrument in. I've only got a 1/4 " for it, and I like using it and my condensor at the same time.

Any thought's on whether this will work or not?

Plug your 57 (using an XLR to XLR cable) into one channel and your condensor into the other.

It's not a fixed cable on your 57, is it?

I can't plug them both in at the same time if I get an xlr unless I want to run phantom power through my 57, isn't that right?. I've actually tried it and it seems to work fine. I don't know much about audio electronics, but it's just a signal isn't it? I don't have to use the high gain channel or anything. hmmm...What's the big pitfall in doing this?

"Plug your 57 (using an XLR to XLR cable) into one channel and your condensor into the other."

is this some method of bleeding off the phantom power when plugging in a dynamic?

Phantom Power should have no affect whatsoever on a moving coil type dynamic so long as the mic cable is in a good condition. Ribbons, on the other hand, should mostly be kept as far away from PP as possible.
