So I finally started my rock opera...

Is it that bad?

Don't worry, the space aliens and time travel show up in the next song. The quirkiness will return!

The vocals are too loud. They overpower the music. The rest is......awesome. :D

Greg, Yeah, I can see what you're saying with the vocals. Thank you.

Moresound. Thank you. I've actually got two basses going on here. There's a regular bass line playing the melody with the guitar. Then I've got the bass string on the Abomination playing a fuzzy tonic.

Ah sound good nice growl.

I was kind of expecting ... more... I like the vocal line... but get rid of that beep synth. Uber cheese and the melody is awful. Like the guitar at the beginning, needs better, richer tone though. The main riff makes me think of the Beach Boys for some reason...

Adjust mind for Steve track...

OK ready

this is pure garage...dry, almost lo fi until the vocs come in...it all worked for me, I thought the beep synth fitted in perfectly, drums sounded better than normal (no offense)..it sounds like the intro act into something mindblasting

I await :)

Sounds pretty good to me, Steve. Where does the opera go from here? Space? Aliens? That sounds kind of cool. Post the next song after the overture, please.

Wig:)

Greg, excellent! Thanks.

PMarq, the synth is actually randomized, so not much melody can really be expected from it. For the guitar part at the beginning, I was going for sparse. I suppose I could multi-track it more, but it would be tough since that part isn't to a click.

KCEarl, no offense taken. Drums are one of the things I struggle most with, so it's good that they're improving!

Xeries, thanks! I could tell you the rest of the plot, but that would spoil the surprise! (The secret is that the next song is "done," but I'm going to let it simmer a bit so I can apply the feedback from this one to it.)

Okay, here we go. It sounds like your song, that's for sure. :D
The drums sound kind of cool with the synth drums. The vocals sound good. I think the song could use more lows in general. The guitar sounds good. Good job overall.

Thanks Squibble. I'm glad you could pick out the distinct synth and normal drums. I could probably turn up the low end on the bass a little, but I'd be worried about getting muddy.

Cool tune steve. Sounded real good and I like those synth notes that you got going on there, adds a cool touch to it. I can't wait to hear the next one. You got a real cool musical style going on.

First off, I love rock operas. I've been trying to write one. Well, more of a concept album but still along the same lines. That's why I haven't been here in a while I guess.

Anyway, I like this. The drums sound really cool. I love the way the guitar sounds in the intro. I Wouldn't layer it. It doesn't sound muddy at all. The synth is pretty cool. It reminds me of Zelda. The vocals (and this is in the new mix) still kind of punch through a bit hard. Maybe you could try mixing it to where they're more of a background effect with some verb thrown on? (Just a suggestion) Very nice. I wanna hear the rest!

-Adam.

Sounds good.

Production-wise it sounds light years ahead of material from say, one or two years ago. At the same time you have retained your signature quirkiness.

I keep saying it....there's hardly anyone more original than you here, Steve.:D
This is really good, love that growling bass, I honestly thought it was a dog barking at the start.... nice vocal harmonies. Bit short for an overture though.
