So Confused

So, I got all of my recording equipment today. I bought Cakewalk Home Studio 2004, MobliePre USB Interface/Preamp, an MXL condensor mic (forgot which one), pop filter and...that's it.
I can use Cakewalk so that I record noise and can play it back, but...now what do I do? I don't have MIDI equipment - can I still use the drum settings (i.e., I want to make drum noises), and if so, how? I've read the manual and I think that only made me more confused.
How do I get the f-ing metronome to work?
How can I get more than one track to play back at once?
