see what i mean?

i know it is a synthesizer... and the sounds it makes are great, etc, and most likely for dance, techno music, etc...

but i want to incorporate these sounds into a rock atmosphere (interpol, strokes, blur influence).

ok,,, thats cool for me... i'll find a way to make it work.

now...

can i also use the microKorg's midi capabilities... and install some string arrangements? play the keys and get nice soundscapes?

ook, thats me question

thanks

Nope, the microKORG doesn't have any string or other orchestral patches. It's meant for dance/new wave/techno/etc.

It is a cool little synth, though.

wait...
but since its midi... doesnt that mean i can get a diskete and upload some strings?

or download from the net via usb ?

or am i just being a total fool?

yes, you can use the midi to control software or hardware synths that have the desired sounds you want.

Ah, I misunderstood your question. Maybe I should've gotten high before I read it. :D

Yes, you can use the microKORG as a MIDI controller to trigger patches in a computer or other sound module. That's one of the things MIDI is meant for.

ah lovely.
so the microkorg, if used right, can actually have it all. granted i find good midi sounds right.

thanks friends

Yeah, you can just use a sequencer package with a software sampler/software synth for instance, and then play the microkorg.

The microkorg will send out messages to your computer, and the sampler/synth will make the sounds (strings for example)
