Hey, I'm new here and need some advice. I built a small rehearsal studio that I also want to use for recording guitars amps. Right now when I attempt to do that there is way too much room noise/echo. The room is 8x15 and has been drywalled. I'm pretty clueless on what I need to use and don't just want to randomly start trying things so any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks

try this

bass traps in the corners. if you can, add a drop ceiling. and assortments of foam on the walls. basically. make sure the room has no 90 degree angles in it. and if you cant afford the auralex foam solutions then get old mattresses and mover's blankets. works pretty good

You can either treat the whole room, or treat round the amp(s). For the whole room, you want at least a 4'x2' 4" rigid fiberglass basstrap(or auralex basstrap) in the corners, including ceiling corners, then at least 2" placed on the walls and ceiling(placed roughly 2' apart). Otherwise, you could place some gobos around the amps.

Either buy your treatment from RealTraps(midi/mondo and micro traps), Auralex(corner bass traps and at least 2" foam), etc, or build them yourself.

I'd probably make some 2-4" gobos that can also be used for rehersals, and treat the ceiling(maybe 4 clouds).
