I've done lots of reading but would like to get some personel advice.

I have a studio space on the third floor of my house, but it is in the process of being re-finished.

So for the time being I'm confined to the smallest bedroom in the house. This room is going to be for mixing, and a little vocal work here and there.

The room is only 11'x10' (ceilings are 8.5'). The only thing there right now is my workstation.

My plan is to make some framed 2'x4' absorbers from 3.5" acoustic cotton.

Also was planning on putting vocalists in the corner and having them sing into 3 hinged 2'x4' frames. I thought this would be the best way to save on space, as well as eat up some bass in the process.

I have a few questions...

1. Does the corner idea sound/look good?
2. Will the 3.5" acoustic cotton work well in this application?
3. Where should the rest of my panels go?

All help and input is very much appreciated...
Thanks in advance.

I would face into the room with the absorbers at my back.

On either wall at the side of your mix position (first reflection point).

I agree with MS
Either face the mix position (with absorbers around / behind you) or create partitions between you and the mix position otherwise you are liable to pick up a lot of computer noise.

Any input on the 3.5" Acoustic Cotton...

The reason I ask, is because I'll be buying it from Brian in a bulk pack.

So for a little over $200 (including wood and fabric) I'll have enough to build 15 frames.
Are there any areas I should use something else in this set-up?

The 3.5" acoustic cotton is perfect. I'd use it if i was in the US, but you can't get it in the UK unless you get it shipped from the US, which is way too expensive...

I don't think you need 15 panels, but you could double up the corner ones, or have a few more straddling the wall-ceiling corners, and have a cloud.

I think Panda is right on the money. It would be perfect for much of what you want and be enough to double up a few for some nice thick corner absorbers.

With the amount for 15 4'x2' panels, you could do this...

You'd definitely need a reflective floor though. This might be a little overkill, but it treats all the corners i can think of. Bass frequencies build up between corners, as far as I'm aware, so treating one corner will effectively be like treating the corner across from it, i think :o
