sm57LC?? multieffect to vox??

Quick two questions:

What is the difference in sm57 and sm57lc???

..need a couple of mics for cab micing...

AND

Our singer needs all the support he can get, so we're thinking about a some sort of multieffect device for him. To use on gigs, for example a reverb, a compressor etc.. Maybe good enough to record with?.. (on demo level) :o

Anyone know anything worth buying??

LC = "less cable". It doesn't come with a cable ;)
 
57 light control, when you need a little extra (like in panty hose)
