sm48 vs sm58

I bought my sm48 months ago and the sales guy told me it was the same as the 58 but made in mexico. is that true? is it a good mic?

If it's doing what you need it to do then it's good for what you're using it for......!

If it doesn't do what you need it to do then you're using the wrong mic for the wrong application....
