Slow blues guitar music

I posted this tune a while back and I followed alot of advise from you guys...on improving it. I recut the lead guitar and put a tad of delay on it (worked quite nicely IMO.). Also, I got a keybordist friend of mine to put a better piano part on it than it had before.

I tried to do the best I could in mixing the tracks...the drums(all on one single track) and bass are older tracks, from when I first started recording, and there are engineering flaws on those tracks...But, the groove was there on the drums...so, im trying to work with it/
I appreaciate anyone who takes the time to listen and much appreciate advise on improving song/mix.

Yep, a classic of its genre :) Your keys man got it just right. I can see why you stuck with the drums, only weakness I could hear was the kick (well, plus they are all in the middle ;))
 
Mono drums don't bother me at all. Drum machines do but we all do what we gotta do. :D They are programmed well but they're the weakest link. Great tone on the guitar. You got the whiskey voice going on for sure.
 
Great song - my only niggle was the reverb on the vocal, a bit much for my taste, maybe not for others though.

Great guitar work.

Opps, I just released I had my reverb unit on with a large hall selected...nevermind.

Phyl- It must have been you reverb unit being on...I thought the vocals may need a hair more reverb on them to tell the truth..

Track rat- The drums are electronic, but its not a machine, a drummer that has played with me for years played on this track (he hates electronic drums by the way). I don't really have the mics to do a good job recording acoustical drums right now...but that is coming!

Gary- the kick drum was one of the engineering flaws on the drum track....it was weak throughout the 1st 2 verses, then came on strong. Since all the drums are on one track I can't really do anything about that...short of recutting the drums.
 
i don't think it's to much reverb, just the tale is too long.
the kit (bla, bla, bla....)
i like the song, and i don't say that often
it's got attitude

oh, watch out for thoes pops, not sure whare they came from but thare are light clicks in the songs
did you (if working in a daw) fade heads and tales of tracks in the song.
(just guessing, i don't know what it is)

the pops are coming from the drum track (on of the engineering flaws on that track)

Its a 66 strat into a fender hot rod deville...miced with a studio projects C-1 mic. The delay was added during mixing with onboad effects built into my recorder (korg D1600).

I normally use a Sure SM58 ) to mic the speaker cab of the amp...I just wanted to see what results I could get out of the C-1 (The "messin with the kid" guitar part was recorded with the SM58). The C-1 sounds pretty good, but so does the SM58 so I dunno.

I think I prefer slow blues guitar miced with a condensor rather than a dynamic. I like hearing the room.
