moving parts

how i do it is i silence the section at the beginning of the track you dont want, then highlight the rest of the track , hold down the alt key(or was it the cntrl key?), then you can move the part around, and you can get it right where it needs to be with a little practice (zoom way in also)

Right, Dave (it's CTRL). Or, you can open the WAV in an editor and actually remove the silence at the beginning. Doing what Dave suggests doesn't alter the WAV file at all. It just tells N to ignore that part.

There are little boxes at both ends of any part. You can grow or shrink the parts by clicking and dragging those boxes. To slide a part around, hold down CTRL and click n drag the part.

yeah, its good (i tihnk) to edit non-destructively.

ctrl slides the thing. just hold control i mean.

to get rid of parts, either slide with that little box, like was already said...
OR
highlight the selection you want to delete, and go to edit CUT (or ctrl + X).
