From the drawing below, which would be the better approach to making a slat resonator in a room. Given that this is new construction, and I have not added the layer of sheetrock on the inner wall, would it be better to leave it off (drawing "A") or cover it to add isolation (drawing "B")?

If "A", should I fill the area in between the slat wall and actual wall with more insulation?

Can I toss scrap blocks of rockwool in there?

Please bear with the drawings, assume everything is sealed air tight... :)

Thanks
Kevin.

Umm... i swear I attached this... sorry.

I think in the interests of maximum efficiency, I would still "sheet" the wall before installing the resonator then cover that area of the wall with absorption material and then fit your resonator over the top.

depends on how much isolation you need - if its OK then you can use the extra depth which will lower the frequency of the slots.
and yes you can throw al the old insulation scraps into the cavity.

Thanks guys. Sounds like either way will work as long as everything is sealed. I may try one of each style and see how they work.

Cheers
Kevin.
