finally got enough money to buy presonus firestudio project

had a look on their forum and there are quite a lot of problems that people are having with the firewire range. at least they have a forum though unlike alesis.

my pc and mac both meet the minimal requirements and im certain that i can set it up with cubase correctly.

anyone else had problems with presonus gear. i have also read that itunes can slow down firewire interfaces, is this true??

I owned a couple of Firepods for a couple of years. Never really had any problems with them. They lost sync a time or two and I had to upload new drivers and firmware, but that's about it.

The Firepods seem to work, and my FireBOX has been fine. But their Firewire mixers are indeed a problem. My partner Doug wasted a lot of time with his, and finally sold it (or threw it away) in disgust.

My kid has been using an Alesis Multimix 8 FW daily for the last 2 years with no issues.

I've never had one but can vouch for the Presonus company.

Ten years out of warranty I plugged the wrong ac adapter into a Bluetube mic pre and blew it up - they replaced the motherboard, gave me a new ac adapter and paid to ship it back to me - all free!!!

I don't know too many companies that would do that - Yamaha has still never come clean about a MIDI merge box (Yamaha YMM2) I bought 25 years ago that never worked right and I even read that they knew it.

No matter what product theres going to be a few bugs...especially in the first 2 years...so that is to be expected.
Personally Ive had issues with a presonus product...it wasnt broken...but noisy and in my opinion unuseable....but you wont have the same type of issues with this one.

You look on the forums for any product and you're going to see a whole bunch of people with problems. People don't post when things are running smoothly.

BTW daveblue did you get Studio One with it?
