Singing techniques - can i get help here?

My first post...

Hello Everyone,

My first post, unfor, it has to start this way. Singing Opera, Alternative, Country, Rock, Metal..whatever is Music. It should be respected whether you like it or not. I feel (IMHO) that any person that doesn't appreciate another persons attempt at singing is not a true artist anyways. This "sister which is mother" is stupid and doesn't belong here. I sing (or think I can) musicals (Les Miserables is my fav :P), Alternative (Creed, Nickelback, Default, Puddle of Mudd...) and Country (Garth, Tim..) so on so forth, I don't perfer rap music but I respect the fact the person is doing what he loves.

Now with that said, I have had no formal training (although I do want it) and I just warm up w/ easy songs and small pieces of songs to get ready to sing. I drink lemon juice like water... :P I am going to try the water trick and also the reverse vocal trick and see if that doesn't help me. As for singing from my diaphragm(sp) I have no clue what this means but I'm sure it would help me :)

Just wanted to thank everyone for putting your time into this thread and helping us that really need it. Looking forward to more :)

If you want to sing opera, then good on you, go get some lessons cause your gonna need them. But do you think the guy from Blink 182 ever had a lesson in his life? yet he has song cool songs(apparently). Also ACDC?? come on. and country singers??? dont even get me started on country singers, they put on a southern accent and sing about their sister(which is also their mother) having an affair with their best friend AND CALL IT MUSIC!!!!

... which is the way we say: you can say that again! :D


if you want to know how it sounds:

"does/duzz chush ubbeR loot sägä"

where the "ch" in "chush" should sound like the "j" in spanish "josé" and the "ä" like an "a" in "rag". don't forget to really pronounce that "R". :D :D
