Anyone else do this? Sing in the car - to practice? It's the perfect spot for me as I can turn it up a little and belt out. I don't sing on my own material much - but when I do I often make a mix sans vocals and practice to it in the truck when I'm out working.

I am not a singer. Like a lot of people - I can sing - but I'm pitchy and generally just don't have a good singing voice. So I need to practice - and the car provides good rehearsal space. And it's kinda private - so for those of us who are a little self conscious because they suck - you can kinda let rip and not have to worry. Although I have caught people looking at me funny when I've got it cranked and I'm leaning into it.:giggle:

When I had a cd player in the car, I always practiced singing. My current car has Bluetooth only, so I don't usually bother with it.

I do also. I also sing songs that aren't really in my vocal range, and it has helped me expand it.

I can relate - in the sense that I wasn't ready to move on (and I'm still not) past CD's. My new truck is my first auto without a CD player since in-car CD players became standard. My previous truck - which a still own - was the last year/model that Ford put a CD player in. And it had bluetooth connectivity and hands free everything as well - but I played my CD's in it exclusively.

But - because I have no choice (which is mildly irritating) - I've adjusted to playing everything off my phone. The one nice thing is - that you can have a lot more choice on hand.

Same here with my tundra. I also use usb port for diy songs to listen to the mix etc. It took a while to get Spotify sorted out at the beginning so everything worked properly, now it’s all good.

I always sing in the car. There's 32GB of MP3s on a micro USB key so I just pull up an album and that usually gets me going. When I had an hour commute each way, it gave me a lot of time to learn song lyrics. Of course, when it is time to sing them, my brain goes blank! Eventually it will come to me, but having to remember both the chords and the words at the same time is getting to be too much for the old grey matter! Senior moments are real!
