Sincerest Apology

Verse 1
I’ve heard it said more than once
That silence is golden
Now I’ve learned that sometimes
I’m betting of with-holding.

Verse 2
You don’t deserve the hurt I give
Or my icy cold shoulder
The years will pass, I only hope
I soften when I’m older.

Chorus
Cuz I speak bullets, I speak fire.
But I’ve got no armor,
I’ve lost my armor.
And I’m so sorry.
I’m so sorry.

Verse 3
You should have the very best
Nothing else will do.
I hope you still believe me
When I say, that “I love you”.

Bridge
(Be)cause my concrete feet won’t let me
Cross this river flowing black.
My hammer-hands nail in the words
That I cannot take back.

Chorus

Outro
Please don’t give up on me,
You’re stronger than you know.
Please don’t give up on me,
I’m far more fragile than I show.

Deep outro.
From the thread title, I thought you were going to give someone you'd flamed on line a humble apology ! :D

Thanks! Hopefully soon. I had written these two years ago and have a project (eh, two really) that I'm getting through now, but this is coming right after.

I like this.
Though this bit is confusing:
Now I’ve learned that sometimes
I’m betting of with-holding.

Is it meant as is or "I'm better of not witholding"?

The lyric has an impiled background and an implied future while essaying a tense status quo that requires the understanding of one and the prospect of change in another.
This is still very personal Chris but its themes are consistent and whilst it suggests significant angst can be put into it's performance so can hope. 2 parts Joy Division 1 part the Las.

Title wise I'd like to see it as My Sincerest Apology or Sincerest Apologies

Yes, withholding, not with-holding, sorry for the confusion.
Thanks, Ray. This one I wrote a while back, I just need to remember the music to it... I have it recorded or written down somewhere... I hope.
Thanks again,
Chris
