I also posted this in the computer recording forum, so please forgive,
A guy with too much money to spend on gear seems to think I can help him with some setup problems. He's had SONAR xl for quite a while, and has an older set (not sure which one) of Waves plugins. He recently got Wavelab (4? whichever the newest version is) and he says all of the cakewalk plugins show up in wavelab, but a few of the Waves ones don't. I realize the info I've given you is a bit vague, but it's the best I can do at the moment. I was going to tell him to come here for help, but then I thought If I could fix his problem for him, maybe he'd let me use some of his gear sometime!

Any ideas?

That's right, mbuster. I don't use Wavelab (maybe soon, it make a good use of DirX & VST) but one of my friend told me, he didn't see L2 & some other Waves 3.5 plugins in the effect list. He can use 'em with SONAR anyway. Maybe it's not supported by Wavelab
Similiar in CoolEdit Pro 2 (which I use) I see several Cakewalk FX on "unsupported list".

Your friend is probably talking about the L1 or the L2.

In version 4 of Wavelab, these plugins show up in the Dithering rack in the Master Section, rather than in the Effects rack. He is probably looking for them in the Effects rack. Tell him to check out the Dithering section. This is pretty much where these particular plugins belong, since they typically should be the last item in your effects chain.

However, if he wants them to appear in the Effects rack, he needs to go to Options > Organize Master Section Plugins. From there scroll down to the DirectX section, find the L1 and L2 (or anything else he is missing) and put a checkmark in the FX checkbox. Now they will show up in the Effects Rack.

BTW, if you want to STOP something from showing up, he can just uncheck any of the checkboxes.

One Stop Shopping, huh? You can even get Wavelab support in the Sonar forum. :D Don't let it happen too often, though.

Welllllll, I figured since he has Sonar and all....
Thanks for the info, Sounds just about right.
