Kick 'em when they're up - kick 'em when they're down....

I didn't realize the 70's had an accoustic guitar tone. :D I'm not knockin' ya on this or trying to stir anything up. I am curious, though, what this " 70's accoustic guitar sound" is. I was around and listening to plenty of music back then, but it's been a while. Why are we talking about one of the prominent bands of the 70's and somehow attributing their sound to a microphone? Am I missing something?

Again, I'm not trying to be an ass. I'd just like to hear people's thoughts on this and discuss in greater detail. I think it's an interesting topic. Love the Eagles.

Listen to America's Greatest Hits- early seventies and some of the nicest
acoustic sounds ever. Don't know what kind of mics they used but they were sweet. :)

Wait a minute ... I don't remember the Eagles doing anything with those lyrics.

Are you sure that's not a Joe Walsh tune? ?

:D :D

I say we all head over to the pizza thread.

I had a 8.5 hour train trip today, and my girlfriend packed me an entire pizza, some chips, and a mango. How nice.

Don't ask why I know this, but that would be "If I close my Eyes Forever"

Now let us not speak of that song again :D

I could be wrong with this, but when I think of 80's accoustic guitar, I somehow think of a more harmonic sound with unnatural high end. Sort of like Lita Ford 12-string on her duet with Ozzy. :D What the heck was that one?

You are missing the 70s Eagles sound done with SM81s.

I was around in the 70s recording music and I remember this sound as being the 70s acoustic sound.

Shortly after that, the 80s were upon us and the SM81s could go down in history as being part of the 80s acoustic sound.

Of coarse, I could be wrong. The Sm81s have been around and made some great acoustic sounds. Mostly in the 70s and 80s though.

Now the 90s, let's not even go there.

Ya know I spent the last year,Rockie Mountain Way..It reminds me of Walden..I couldn't have gotten much higher!I was livein' with this chick there..but I left her never did trust her she had those liein' eyes

I owned two SM81's for a couple of years, and to me they don't have a sound at all. Very flat and precise sounding.

Well I've devoted to much time to reading this thread if I don't go offline soon there going to be a heartache tonight
