Simple sound effect needed

Hi!

I'm recording a book/cd (a gift) for my son's 3rd birthday. It's turned into real project. Anyway, I'm looking for 2 sound effects:

- a golf ball going in the hole (and golf swing if possible)
- nice sample of audience applause (like after an orchestra concert or opera)

I've searched the web and have found some low-fi takes. I'm hoping someone here might have a couple of nice versions of these, and willing to share.

Try dropping a golf ball from the lip of a plastic cup. Use a cup size roughly the same as a regular golf cup. You might be able to correct the sound with some EQ.

For the concert audience, try a concert on PBS. Record it on your computer/tape deck/DAW etc. Most times from the concerts I have watched the narrator usually, but not always, keeps his/her mouth shut between numbers.

Good idea about the applause! - and I'll probably go with it - never hurts to add to the library. I forgot to also mention that I need an orchetsra tuning (then the 'tap tap' of the baton) I think I'll use the beginning to Fantasia 2000 - which has such a sequence just prior to Beethoven no. 5. (unless you all got a killer take of THAT too laying around...HA!)

I gave him just the book last night (I illustrated). The read-along soundtrack will follow in the next few days. Hopefully I'll translate it all into a flash file and post it on my web site.

Without getting too mushy, the reaction I got to the book was by far the most rewarding of ANY gig you could have.

no problem. couldn't find much more at work. When I get home I should be able to find them though, if you like.
 
I'm actually in pretty good shape now...unless you want to take a stab at the tuning orch. Otherwise, you all have been a trmendous help in this and I'm left now to mix and play.

Does anyone have any applauses that are about 10-15 seconds long where people clapping, and talking? KIND of similar to the entrance to Sgt. Peppers with out the horns. And another of JUST clapping and screaming thats like 20 seconds.

It takes you to a British company that sells sound files over the web. You can download a lo-res sample for free, and then buy the hi-res version if you like it. They've got an immense library which can be searched by sound description.
