Hi!

I'm recording a book/cd (a gift) for my son's 3rd birthday. It's turned into real project. Anyway, I'm looking for 2 sound effects:

- a golf ball going in the hole (and golf swing if possible)
- nice sample of audience applause (like after an orchestra concert or opera)

I've searched the web and have found some low-fi takes. I'm hoping someone here might have a couple of nice versions of these, and willing to share.

Thanks to all!

Ho, i just saw the same message in www.audiforums.com... You are loocking hard for those effects !

Did you looked for wav files in Microsoft's Golf game that camed with Win98 Plus! package ? If i remember, there was a nice guggle-guggle ball sound, and some chear applauses for eagles and birdies... But that should be 16bit/22 KHz mono sounds...

Hi Lord,

Yep, I'm scouring pretty good to find the cues I'm running XP Pro - but I'll take a look and see what's there.

Thanks for the tip!

I might have an applause sound. I'll have to check when I get home. I believe I have the 98Plus CD lying about as well, if you'd like me to look at it.

That would be great!...it's a small bit to the story, but one of those details that need to be there.

I appreciate the effort - no matter what you may find.

Hey gascap -

I have a pretty large SFX library in my studio. Not sure if I have the golf ball sound - but I might.
I have plenty of audience applause - all 16 bit, 44.1

I'll check back in here tonight when I get home. If you still need the SFX, I'll see what I can do.

Thanks alot Strat and Brad!

It IS a fun project.

I'll check out the link and see what Brad's cd yields. ...Oh the lengths we go to for young'uns!

Holy crap AlChuck!

What a great link! Thanks!

gascap - I am still going to look through my SFX tonight and post back here with what I find.

I have what sounds to me like a golf ball going in the hole.
2 of 'em - one has a different putt sound than the other, but the ball going in the hole part is the same.

I have a golf swing.

I have a bunch of applause sounds to choose from.

Total size of all .wav files: 20 or so megs. That size would go way down (to a more managable attachment size) if you could give me a better idea of what kind of applause sound you are looking for. That is what is taking up most of the space - all the darned applause styles.

Or I could just step out onto my Southern California porch, aim for Kansas and give the CD the ol' college frisbee throw.

Hi All!

You guys rock!

I'll sift through the tree and see what happens. Thanks!

Brad: The applause would be something like after a concert on PBS - which I may actually try and sample a bit of. It's not a golf clap, or stadium roar...maybe a few whistles, and shouts "encore"..but mainly clapping. It can be 10 seconds and I'll loop as needed. I realize there are many types of applause, so I don't really know what to say other than I don't need those two types listed above.

AlChuck and Strat:
Indeed some good links - and I KNOW I'll be using them for future stuff!

-------------

I forgot to also mention that I need an orchestra tuning (then the 'tap tap' of the baton) BUT I think I'll use the beginning to Fantasia 2000 - which has such a sequence just prior to Beethoven no. 5. (unless you all got a killer take of THAT too laying around...HA!)

Having said all that,

I gave him just the book last night (I illustrated). The read-along soundtrack will follow in the next few days. Hopefully I'll translate it all into a flash file and post it on my web site.

Without getting too mushy, the reaction I got to the book was by far the most rewarding of ANY gig I've ever had....I can't wait to finish the audio

Thanks again!

Okay gascap - I have some sounds to send your way. Hopefully you can use them. Total size: 2.99mb

You want me to email them to you?

I can split them up if you want.

Let me know within the next couple of hours if possible. After that, I will be away from a computer for about 15 hours or so.

Hi Brad,

Sorry I'm late on the reply. Thanks for the effort and yes, go ahead and split them up into smaller attachments and fire away;

I really appreciate the work...

Thanks again!
