Simple Question

PAN-PAN, PAN-PAN, PAN-PAN, means you have a serious situation aboard that requires urgent help but is not classified as an emergency until you declair.

PAN means moving the sound of a recorded track left or right in the soundfield.

Pan, Peter, some fairy in a kids story.

Pan, a metallic, usually round object with a handle either cast or attached to allow you to fry bacon in. Not used much in Afganistan for that purpose.
 
Panhandle (n): bit of texas that sticks out; handle to control moving the sound of a recorded track left or right in the soundfield.

Oh, BTW, Pan is short for Panorama - think of it sorta like the Balance pot on your stereo, only you get one for each track in a multi-track recording situation... Steve
