Simple question about a Sony mic.

Ok, this is probably going to sound dumb. My friend's got a Sony C48 and it's got this little switch on the inside that says "V" and "M", I assume meaning "vocal" and "music". I also assume it's a low frequency roll-off switch, but can anybody tell me which one is the roll-off and which one is regular? I'd test it myself, but I don't have access to the mic at the moment.
