Ok I'm either guna find some people who like them, or....you'r all guna kick my ass.

Who likes them?

I DO!! :D

who are they??? semen and garfield? jk yeah i like them..i studied them in my history of rock n roll class.

Oh yes - brilliant songwriting, and Garfunkle has an amazing voice.
Saying that, I prefer the Paul Simon solo versions of many of the songs - including Sound Of Silence. Check out 'Songbook' by Paul Simon if you haven't heard it.

Paul Simon's fingerpicking isn't talked about often these days - but I certainly rate him.
He's written some brilliant brilliant music down the years.

Songs like Bridge Over Troubled Water, 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover, Still Crazy After All These Years, and many more, still have the power to move me after years of listening to them.

listening to the soundtrack of "the graduate" as i type ... probably the first "real" soundtrack in history

cheers

I like them...they have to be one of my top ten favorite musical acts/groups/performers.

they perfected close harmony, wrote great folk songs, great pop songs, and they deserve the legendary the status they have.

I have their collected works and they are incredible. Paul Simon's lyrical abilities and skill on the guitar can't be over estimated. Garfunkel's voice and harmonies are icing on the cake. That said, Paul Simon's solo stuff is still amazing (and he's married to Edie Brickell, which is a bonus).

Art's solo stuff was not quite as "wow", though my sister swears buy his new stuff that he does for kids.

good stuff

Those two guys did some amazing things with what they had to work with. I bought a three cd set of their's a few years back, and was floored by the quality and depth of the songwriting. All I had heard before that was "Mrs Robinson"

They have my respect for sure

Some of my favorite stuff ever.

Absolutely a wonderful duo. Great songwriting that has stood the test of time - still popular today, which has to tell you something.

I think Garfunkle is a waste of skin. In all of S&G tunes he had ONE cowrite. I also found his vocals to be thin and weenyish.

However I own everything Paul Simon has ever written. A genius songwriter and amazing guitarist.

I also own the songbook and really enjoy Paul's versions without Garfunkle.

Also the Simon and Garfunkle in the park concert doesn't hold a candle to Paul's 1991 Concert in the Park sans Garfunkle. Having Garfunkle sing harmony on EVERY SINGLE SONG really ruined it for me.

I like them, but really most of their songs are these sentimental weepers. When they do try to be a bit more bluesy or tough they still sound like wimps. Not bad to hear on the radio but I would never buy their albums.

I Love theire work, they really had some great songs.
My faves are Scarborough fair and sound of silence :)

One of my favorites. I liked them much better as a duo than their solo efforts. Some of my fondest memories of the 60's/70's are triggered by hearing The Boxer, America, Sounds of Silence, etc.

I like Paul's solo stuff a lot better. Yeah, even Heart and Bones. Graceland is in my top 10 all-time favs.
