this is kinda a silly question...but i ddint know where else to ask

but i have a microsoft wirless multimedia keyboard...and i use the volume controls on it alot...now ever since i got the delta 44 the volume controls dont work anymore...the play, stop, fast forward, rewind, pause buttons work fine..just the volume..any idea of why this is? i tried updating drivers..setting keys and everything..any ideas?

just thought somebody might have run into this problem?

my guess is that you've somehow assigned the delta as your default sound card.
Non Direct-X cards won't respond to the volume knob on your keyboard, which I'm fairly sure is a DX control.
Are you using the Delta to listen to your default copmtuer sounds, or your original sound card?

yeah the delta is my primary..i have the monitors hooked up to it..so it would have to be right??

is there anyway to get around that or am i stuck with no controls?

if you set up your "old" soundcard as the primary for windows, and use the delta for your recording/monitoring needs, you should be fine.

You change your soundcard settings in the control panel, under "audio and sound properties" (or wahtever it's called these days).

I'd advise using your monitors only for monitoring, and standrd computer speakers for your standard comptuer sounds. When you look at it that way, it almost seems obvious, eh?

i guess..but why? i like how my monitors sound..and i use them for everything i do on the computer..why would i use seperate crappy speakers for everything else and not just use monitors?
