Reading thru the setup section, Flavio mentions signal bleed from track to track. Is he refering to bleed from monitors into the next track, or is there some "cross talk" bleed on an electronic level?
If so, what's the correction?

It really depends on the context. You might experience signal bleed on some shitty soundcards, and the only correction is a new soundcard. You might also experience signal bleed from your monitors as you mentioned, for which the correction is obvious. You might have signal bleed problems if you accidentally route an output back to an input too....although I really wouldn't call that "bleed."

Anyways, are you actually having problems? I only had to deal with this issue at the hardware level once, a very long time ago when I was trying to use an ES based soundcard.

windows comes default with the record dialog set on "record wave outpt",means as you record your second track, the first one is being layered on top. This tripped me up my first few days of using the program like others.I think that may be what he is referring to in the instructions as track bleed.

No, I'm not having problems with it. It just struck me as curious because I don't think he made reference to using cans vs monitors. I remember reading about "cross talk" when I was a kid but don't recall exactly what it pertained to.

The Windows thing is interesting, Tom. Can I assume that between setting up soundcard drivers and recording software that window's settings are over-ridden?

Gonna take a look and see what I can see.

Thanks,
Rick
