I have a Gateway M675XL laptop and I want to record three simultaneous vocal tracks (three commentators discussing a movie). I'm eventually going to buy a firewire interface, but for now I want to try everything else out (mics, software, etc).
My laptop has a SigmaTel Universal Jacks Input/Output select function. Of the three 1/8" jacks, I can set all three to "Stereo L/R In". The third also has an option for SPDIF In.
Am I correct in assuming that this gives me three line ins? I have a Behringer Eurorack MX602A Mixer. If I grabbed three mics, say a Shure SM57 and two StudioProjects B1 condenser mics, could I get three channels of simultaneous input into the laptop?
Thanks!
