I am a DP01 owner and I'm brand new to recording. In the manual, it stresses the proper way to shut down. Today, the hydro went out and, obviously, the DP01 shut down in an improper fashion. Is this a (possible) problem for me? Any advice?
You might want to consider purchasing an uninterpretable power supply or "UPS" for short. The computer world is long used to these devices as a means of having enough battery back up power to safely back up your files and shut your computer down. By extension, your DP01 shares many of the same pitfalls that a PC user might expect in that it is storing your music on an internal hard drive and it requires that files be properly named and saved before turning off the power.
The UPS units out there, the better ones at least, will offer voltage regulation, spike protection and noise suppression too...all good things to baby sit your power from the electric company.
