hey all
It seems to me that Shure's Performance Gear series is their downmarket line intended for home recordists and bands on a budget. The specs look awfully similar, though, and they're a lot cheaper. Are there any subjective opinions about performance differences between the budget PGs and the pro-level SMs? I'm particularly interested in the respective 57 models. The PG certainly doesn't LOOK the same as the SM, definitely not as cool.
Also, I'm curious about the 48 as compared to the 58. The former is marketed more as a "spoken word" mic, but again the specs looks fairly similar. Has anyone used a 48 as a vocal mic and how does it do?
cheers
