Hey Everyone,

I know a lot of live sound guys swear upon the combination of the Beta 91 and the Beta 52 on the bass drum.
I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried this for recording... is it good combination for a recording? or is it something that should be kept in the live sound industry?

Any thoughts.

I use beta 91's in conjunction with other kick mics quite frequently when recording. The 91 is a very different mic from your normal dynamic kick drum mics and creates a lot of options for different kick drum sounds when you are mixing. If you have the tracks and the preamps available, I would recommend it. I would not however record with just a 91.
