DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THE SHURE AXS MIC'S. PARTICULARLY THE AXS4 CONDENSOR MIC'S FOR DRUM OVERHEADS.

Sometimes, if no one knows anything, and they don't know you, they may keep quiet. Don't take offence!
I've heard of em, as far as I know its a Musicians friend thing, but I've wondered for a long time if they are the same damn mics or not. If so, very much worth looking in to... but, I cant say any more than that they are identicle in every way cosmetically, from what i can see.

I posted a similar question/thread myself with even more deafening silence....My friend had two AXS4s that he let me have for $50 US each, so I picked them up and I'll post my thoughts when I get them tried out. I'm no AE, but a fairly picky SOB- I found manuals for them on Shure's website, but I had to dig for 'em a little. They had discontinued model manuals dating back to the '50s but the Axcess series one wasn't- do a search for AXS on their site and you'll find it- full specs and what I consider to be questionable mic placement advice, too. (when compared to the opinions of folks here in some of the other threads....I trust real world experience more than some clown in an office)

Those pictures at the back are for live sound, not recording. I don't think Shure intended these mics for recording.
Shure has excellent publications on mic placement, such as this:
