I have 2. they sound great. they get used for drum overheads and acoustic guitar.
The transient response is very quick. I like the way these sound on the acoustic guitar better than how my c1 sounded on it.

just a guess, but it might sound better then the C1 because of the non hyped high end. I know the 849 dies a ways down from 20kHz, is this bad? nope. is hyped high end bad? nope. also have i heard the C1 ? nope, but i do know it hits 20kHz from marketing or reading.

HearClear2,,yeah I posted this before I tried it out. It's "borrowed" but I can keep it for a while, may try and buy it from him. Recording an acoustic was what I was after, and I used it with my at40/50 and they really sounded great together. I agree the transient response is way quick.

Kristian...damn one of my daughters name is kristian,,,are you a girl/woman? Just kidding:D well are you?:D yeah it dosen't seem to have much if any "hyped" high end. Sounds pretty smooth with just the right amount of high end. Would like to try out some of their better mic's, I think this is one of their budget mics. Thanks guy's.
