i just recently found an mpc 2000 xl for about $375 dollars thinking about adding it to my home studio would u get that or an mpc 1000 i found one in the same price range let me know what u think
that's a question that nobody can answer. Coulda-shouda-woulda is really all in your court. Look at the specs, read the manual, or at least skim it. Does it do what you need to do? Does the other one do it better? Nothing can give you a definitive yes or no answer except your own research. It's easy to impulse buy gear and regret it later if you don't know what you are getting first.
IMO I would take the 1000, it has USB connectivity which will let you connect to a computer. The 2000xl you can't connect to a cpu. Just something to consider.
