Recorded last night in a friend's garage, and my first decent sounding recording of a drumkit. Recorderman techniqe, plus kick and snare mics.
Drumkit was a Ludwig CS Custom in fusion sizes, Stock bottom heads, Remo Pinstripe batter heads, Evans EQ4 on kick with a blanket inside, and another 22" Bass drum (no heads) stuck in front of it.
Snare is a 14" CB snare, stock snare head, Evans Genera G2 coated batter.
OH's were Berhinger ECM8000's
Kick was an old AKG handheld mic
Snare was a Cobalt Co4
Both guitars were recorded with a Co4 touching the grill, set off axis and pointing towards the center of the cone. An MXL 990 was then set about a foot away from the amp. These were panned slightly left and right.
Bass Is a Peavy Minx, set to put out the high end, Mic'ed with an SM58, and an Ampeg bass combo run direct for low end.
