A friend of mine bought a Les Paul Standard and wanted to A/B it against my 1958 Historic Les Paul.
Since I had him there I thought I'd get him to play throught the above mentioned pre's.
LP standard-->Neumann TLM127 -->Marshall 1974x 18w -->preamp--> Pro Tools.
The only problem was that he played a little differently through the digi002 pre's. But you still get a good idea. No EQ or any effects were used and the levels were pretty equal.
TG2:

La-610

Digi002

Obviously the TG2 stands out more in that it is more punchy and has more presence.
The La-610 was darker, rounder, and fuller sounding.
The digi002 was closer to the la610 but not as full sounding.
Having said all this, I think when it comes to pre's we're getting into hair splitting land here. I'm not sure I could tell the difference without referencing between them. Well maybe I could hehehe BUT I don't think the stock pre's in the digi002 are going to make or break a recording - I really don't.
