Hello Everyone,

I'm about to upgrade my mic... from AKG Perception 120 to Neumann TLM 103. At the moment i'm using an AKG shockmount. Do you think the shockmount will be compatible with the TLM103?

Thanks,

Frank

Personally I would either get the suspension designed specifically for the TLM 103 or (better) get a Rycote USM which works well with anything. :thumbs up:

Got the Rycotes after the 4047 fell out of its rubbers :thumbs up: - With a wish though. An extra set of shorter screws for the fatter mics would be nice.

Did that Rycote USM evolve from a Christmas tree stand? That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the adjusting screws. I'll need the wife to eye up the mic to make sure it's straight in the mount while I'm setting the screws. :D

That's a good one! :)

I'd get the rycote over the standard neumann shockmount, it's actually cheaper than the neumann one as well, don't get me wrong the neumann shockmount works but the rycote is more versitile with so many mics

The Rycote USM fits anything from 18-55mm (3/4" to 2").

All you need to do is find out what diameter the mics are from their product pages. Not difficult...

:thumbs up: Agreed

The Rycote USM will fit a mic. up to the size of a U87 - for larger mics they do the USM-VB for microphones between 55mm and 68mm.

If you need a mount up to 68mm but to also go smaller than 55mm, I'm sure Rycote would do you a "special" with longer adjusters.
