gimmi your mic!
hey folks,

I just finished a new song and put it online. Its kinda "dark" electronica with some bits of my own sax solo. Its mostly done using outboard gear, only some soft synths (e.g., the electric piano), and put together in Logic.

There are two versions of the song on my website, one in shitty quality for a smaller bandwidth and one which is twice as big:

Please let me know what y'all think, will ya? All comments are welcome since I am still pretty new to home recording.

Have fun!

P.S.: Here's a remix:

Pretty cool!
Imho it could use a break here or there, or some sort change up on the beat and the high hats. Like if you incorporated that little build up at the end into the middle of the song here or there. I also think if you do a remix it would make a great jungle song with some tight deep bass line in there.
Good job! You've got potential.

hi subtractor,

thanxxx a lot for your feedback!

You are right, the track needs a few more breaks and percussions. I've posted the remix as ordered (see link above) :-) It sounds much more like "jungle" now -- at least I hope so.

Wow Very spacious sounding , I actually ripped the cans off my head thinking the monitor speakers came on at 2:30 am:D LOL :D
Some of the Best electronica stuff Ive heard posted here.

Kind of SEXXY

Peace
Bill

hi wfaraoni --

LOL, actually: the same happened to me last night after I spread the stereo image a bit -- even tough I remixed it!

Thanks for listening!

Your mix has a sort of "rave" feel to it! :) It would be neat to hear a little bit of repetitive vocal words amongst it. Does that make sense? LOL

hi Prozkgrl --

oh noooo, it sounds like rave! I hate rave! :-( *just kidding*

I had vocals in mind when I started the track. Thing is that I am too shy to ask the two singers I know if they could come over for a session (I can't sing) since I've never done that. My plan is to finish a few songs and then ask someone to come to my "studio" to overdub vocals (or at least some bits of it). Hope it'll work out.

Sorry for the double post...it was acting weird there for a sec! LOL I like rave music, when done right...it will be interesting to see what the finished sound is..:)

That's a big improvement I think. It reminds me of "the western song" by PFM.
Keep polishing it and maybe add some sort of "haunting" vocals or something and you'll have a winner.
Very good.

thanks for your comments, subtractor!

I will add some female vocals and see how it sounds like.
