Hey guys,
I just rewired a strat with a 59 in the bridge and two SSL-1's in the mid and neck. My dilemna is the 59, which I have wired to a push/pull tone pot to split. I have the green and bare to ground, the black as hot on 5 way switch, and the red and white together on the push pull. When I pull up the tone pot, it splits just fine, but it doesn't cancel the hum with the middle pickup in position 4.
The mid pickup is RWRP and cancels out with neck just fine. What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks,
Aaron

the middle and bridge pickups need to be out of phase. believe if you flip the bridge pickup over it might work.

Right... the thing is, all the pups are all SD's... so they should be phased properly with each other already. the neck and mid work fine and cancel the hum. I'm going to give what you suggest a try tonite, and we'll see. Anybody know which I swicth? I assume I switch the green (ground) and black.

Flipping the pickup will not do it. You need to change which coil is being tapped. Now, it should work the way you have it, but if it doesn't, then you need to change the coil you are tapping. I don't remember which wires are which, and I am not at the shop right now, but I can post it tomorrow. I know you have to swap the red and white for the black and green, I just don't remember which for which.

Or I suppose an easier solution would be to just swap the neck and middle pups. I didn't buy them as a calibrated set or anything, so I don't think it would make any difference output-wise.
