Revising my setup......getting rid of Lexicon Omega gear.........starting fresh:
I want to record vocals and some bed music(via CD). Sometimes I'll add some samples from my sampler as well as from some wav files, may even occasionally insert some patterns from my drum machine. Mind you I'll only be rcording one element at a time.
My setup is this: PC with 512/120
Cool Edit Software
Yamaha MG 10/2 Mixer
Roland SP 606 Sampling Workstation w/cakewalk sftwr
Alesis SR-16
Marshall 990 Condenser Mic
Stanton s-250 tabletop CD player
Event Tuned Reference 5 powered monitors
before I worked everything through the Lexicon Omega hardware(their software sucks) wasn't always as smooth an operation as I preferred but hell I'm working at home and it got the job done. I just got tired of the Lexicon's
awkwardness. Now clearly I need space for the bigger mixer AND I need a sound card. I record one track at a time (at most two). I need a sound card now RIGHT? Will the M Audio 2496 do?
All suggestions are welcomed.
