Ok I have recordgin with my mpc I have in sync with my computer whereas when I press record or play on cubase the mpc starts right up. Ok my next problem is connection. If I have a Roland xp80 keyboard and a trition and motiff sound module how would I hook these piece to my mpc would it be

Rolandout>>>Mpc ins>>>Trition>>>mptiff midi thru

If so how would I set up different parts to be played on certain modules. I know I WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE SUM CHANNELS but on what

SO on my mpc if I put it on on 2A device 2 and I set the motiff to channel 2 does that mean the mpc will play channel the motiff and If I put the mpc on channal 3A device 3 and set the triton to 3 will the triton sounds then play play. If I wrong correct me but Im kinda confused, thanks.

guess who...

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

What i'd do...

SOUNDCARD to MPC IN 2 <----since you don't need that everytime you make a track. Just means you'd have to MMC slave to IN2...

ROLAND MIDI OUT to MPC IN 1

MPC OUT 1 to MOTIF IN

MPC OUT 2 to TRITON IN

Then I'd set the MOTIF to only respond to midi channels 1-8 (1A- 8A) or however many I wanted to use. That is if I wanted to use the thru for another instrument... If not setup this way the Motif and module will both make a sound when a note is played on the assigned the same channels.

Set the TRITON to only see 1-8... Or whatever....

TRITON THRU to ROLAND IN with the ROLAND set to see channels 9-16 <--- gotta figure how to avoid the midi loop though. This kicks the ROLAND in the use only if necessary spot kinda but it's still in the chain.

Not sure how to setup any of those modules to respond to certain midi channels only... If you set em up properly then it'll give you the full 32 midi channels plus another 32 tracks for samples from you MPC.
........................................................................................................

Turn the MPC to MIDI instead of PRG or whatever it is (don't have my MPC handy). This turns off the MPC sounds and will only send to the modules. Now the MOTIF will respond on 1A-16A the TRITON

That's just what i'd probably do... I think that's about right but i'd have to actually do it to know for sure...

Whats up my boy Lazi thanks for all your help, One question you say plug my triton into out 1 and motiff to out 2. Are you telling me that the xp80 will still be the controller and I will still be able to trigger the sounds from the sound modules from my keyboard.

Yeap... With it setup wire for wire like I posted then it should be your controller for whatever midi channel you have you MPC set to.

Might wanna turn the LOCAL CONTROL off inside the keyboard to keep the XP80 sounds from playing whenever you hit the keys... This will make your XP80 keys strictly a controller and the synth engine a respond like a module. I don't know if this would kill the loop though,
