alright, so before...I had my comp set up really nice.
2 hardware profiles, and 2 user profiles.
under the RECORDING hardware profile, and the RECORDING user profile, all unneeded things would be off and/or would not start with hte computer.
aka:
no anti virus
no unused pci cards (netwoork card, IEEE, etc.)
no "macdrive" software (lets me read mac formatted drives)
no "security center" or "auto updates" or anytihng like that
no print spooler, other network services (like certain svchost.exe uses...)
etc. etc., the list goes on.
I remember doing all this last time really easily. just through control panels, and msconfig, etc....
and as long as I was under the correct profiles at the times the changes were made, they would be saved to THAT hardware or user profile.
now since my reformat, nothing seems to save with those. If I make a change one place with a startup program or service, like through msconfig, it effects all profiles, regaurdless.
what am i forgetting??
