Setting up Cubase 5 with your interface

Hi, I am having some trouble to record with my mics in Cubase 5 my interface is a Yamaha MW12C. I have try the tutorial on YouTube but just does not work . ive had this message popup
"Impossible to reocord audio because the audio input is not active open the Asio DirectX full duplex setup dialog. Make sure that a device is selected in the input ports section and that its check box is activated"
And this message
"st system link has been deactivated because of to many receive errors!"
I am so confused would be very greatful if some one could help me.

1st, go to the devices pull down menu and select "Device Setup."
In the left column, select VST Audio System.
On the pull down menu at the top right, select your yamaha device, not the Asio DirectX full duplex Driver.

Try this for starters. If you don't see you r yamaha device listed in the pull down menu, then start over with your interface install.
