Hello,

I currently have a dual stereo cable plugged from my computer's a/v in to my Audio Buddy's dual stereo line out. I've plugged in both a mic & a guitar (separately) to the audio buddy, and the audio buddy's lights come on great. However, the computer will not recognize it. I've played with all the sound settings, using 'stereo mix'. And of course Audacity doesn't see it either. I'd appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Nobody is going to know what "computer's a/v" means. You need to specify input or output. It also helps to think and write in terms of the direction of signal flow. So your Audio Buddy's output should be connected to a line input on your computer.

Using a stock sound card is generally not recommended due to poor quality and lack of hardware input monitoring. A proper audio interface would be a better choice.

Thanks for your reply.
It is labeled 'A/V in' on the front of my computer, and I mentioned line 'in' & line 'out' in the first sentence.
It seems I should be able to get some sound to come through, even if it is poor quality.
What is a proper audio interface?
