Setting up Adobe Audition

Hey guys. Im new to recording but im learning. I use Adobe Audition 2.0 and have seen a lot of options in the preferences that i have absolutelly no idea what they do, so ill list them and if anyone could tell me what to chose to get me start that would be superb... mostly recording acoustic stuff and heavy metal if that makes any difference. well here goes:
