Setting Midi in Protools

Hello everyone,

I am recording in Protools Mbox 2 using my yamaha keyboard. I am confused about how to set up midi. How many cables do I need and how do I connect them? It seems that my PC doesn't have an audo midi driver... or maybe I've just been unable to locate it.

One more quesiton: The tutorials I've seen show that you must create an instrument track and insert a virtual instrument such as Reason.
In those tutorials it seems that there is no place for my keyboard. What advantage would I have if I would connect my Yamaha Midi cables to Protools? How would playing MIDI parts on keyboard be different from playing digital parts?
