Seth Mould introduces himself

Hi, I'm Seth Mould and I am completely new to home recording. My website is www.sethmould.com which shows how incompetent I am with home recording.

My current problem is with Vocaloid2 (Sonika). I thought I would be able to sing in the melody but it looks like I can only import a midi file.

Basically, I am using JamStudio to create basic (no flattened 9ths!) backing, then I play piano and/or guitar analogue on top, and then add my very bad voice.

By the way my website is about my 'virtual band' so if you are a lyricist or singer or anyone who is interested in online collaborative music then get in touch.

you basically just want backing tracks to play along to??

using a singer collab would be a good thing...but would still limit you to their availability...you could record audio and convert it into midi then import that into your vocal software...if you could sing pitch I doubt youd probably use it, and I dont know the software at all, but couldnt you record the singing melody with your piano and use that?
