GREAT read sjoko2,

even though this is my second time reading it, I read it more indepth, and learnt more this time.

I also downloaded the zip file so it is permanently in my computer.

Hmmm...a while back someone mentioned that most home recordists would be shocked to hear a basic mix from a good pro studio. That's a major point: I have absolutely no idea what a good pro mix sounds like at any stage and the difference that pro mastering makes to it. I've only heard my stuff and my friends' stuff. Duh, no wonder my knob-tweaking on final mixes always leads me back to the mix itself- I have no idea what I'm doing!

Is there anywhere that one could listen to a project at several stages to get an idea about that? I'd love to get my ears on a rough mix, final mix, and mastered version of a pro project. I'd imagine that would be hard to come by. ;) Even song fragments might be vastly informative.

Does anyone around here have the materials to provide that or know where it, or something similar, is already posted?

In the spirit of DIY fun (i.e. NOT I-wanna-pro-sound-from-my-bedroom),
Chris
