sorry for the lame subject, couldn't think straight.
:) well heres my deal guys. i have a Korg poly six analog synth, and i want to record some electro music into my cpu using cakewalk. i have a soundblaster live card with live drive interface, which allows me to hook it in as audio (my synth).
i want to be able to program stuff that can't really be played live, like complex stuff, and people tell me that sequencers can do that. can cakewalk? i guess i'm looking for something that can help things line up in time. can you guys help me out? thanks a lot guys, have a great day

Yes, Cakewalk can, as can practically any other MIDI/digital audio recording/sequencer application. Investigate them all, they all have their own strengths and weaknesses and the best one for indivdual A is not necessarily the nset one for induvidual B...

You should use midi instead of recording the audio.
Cakewalk will do that. But it depends on how much control you want to have over the synth. If it is standard stuff like resonance and cuttoff, that's easy. But some of the more complex stuff may require sysx commands or, better yet, you may want to check out
www.emagic.de and look at SoundDiver.

See if they support your synth. That's not a sequencer, but it will give you access to the deep bowels of your synth (if they support it).

Good Luck!

electronicd, with cakewalk, you can play very slowly and speed up, correct timing problems ( called Quantize), Overdub, you name it. You can even put in one note at a time (step recording).

You're gonna have a blast:cool:
