sennheiser 906 vs sm57

which of those mic's is better to record guitars in your opinion and in which point?

Try both and see which one you like best, it is a matter of taste. I would put both on and record each mic to its own track and blend them later.

Used 57's for ever. Then when the 906 came out I made the switch. Just seemed more alive.
 
If it's the 906 then I vote 906. If it's the 609 then I vote 57.
 
I have the i5 as well.

Honestly all these mics are different, but I don't care for my 609 because it doesn't seem as directional as the 57 or i5.
 
I just recently got an i5 and I'm liking it a lot on loud ass guitar cabs. I find it a lot like the 57 but a little mellower in the upper mids.
