Just out of curiousity, when preparing to send files to be mastered, should you leave the mix as is or can you EQ the final mix?

I find the audio to sound much more pleasant after EQing, but are they going to do that?

Also, do you burn the files as wavs on a data disc?

I would not add any eq or additional processing to your mix since the mastering engineer will be doing this with a fresh set of ears in a room designed for critical listening.

It's always better to send 24 bit data files, if the project was recorded at 24 bits.

And why is that...?

(Why aren't you EQ'ing to be much more pleasant during the mixdown?)
