Sending Effects In Cake Pro 9

Hey, I've got my cake pro 9, and the lexicon studio package, i can run my instrument into my card, and through the processor and record the track with the effect it ran through. Is there a way i can record clean, then pull up the lexicon mp100 effects processor and apply the effects through it?? This may be a real confusing question...

How do i record dry, then later put an effect to it. not using cakewalk's effects, by using the lexicon mp100 effects card i have built into my cpu? and how can i preview it where i can listen to the effect on that track before i actually have it recorded over that track?
